Hrana: Food, drinks and meals
A topic lesson is an easier lesson: no new grammar, but lots of new words. This topic is all about hrana (food) and drink. You immediately use what you already know: gender, jedan/jedna/jedno and prices from lesson 6, and Gladan sam from lesson 4.

Ordering
Ordering is easy: jedan or jedno + the word + molim. Only with feminine words does something change: Jednu kavu, molim. You will learn why in a later lesson. For now, learn it as a fixed phrase.

Tasty: ukusan, ukusna, ukusno
Just like umoran/umorna in lesson 4, “tasty” changes with the gender. When you say it in general, use the neuter form: Ukusno je!

Idemo na kavu? (Shall we go for a coffee?) is an invitation to catch up in Croatia. You can sit at a café for hours over a single cup, and nobody will chase you away.
